Drop Limit

After a bit of discussion, I convinced Graham that we needed to put in a daily drop limit. This went in today, you cannot drop more than 50 times in one day.

The reasoning is that the traffic that we’re generating, we’d like to be “quality” traffic. That is, there’s a decent chance that they’re willing to read a bit of your site and see if it’s something they’d like. This doesn’t happen if people are busy rushing from blog to blog in a desperate attempt to get credits, so while we want to reward people for breaking out of their normal routine and going and having a look around, we don’t want to particularly reward the “rushers”.

We understand, however, that card dropping is *fun*. So we picked a number (50) that seemed reasonable after looking at the average number of drops people did. We’re open to changing this, and there’s also the option of allowing the drop but simply not giving a credit for it. Leave a comment or enter feedback on your dashboard if you have preferences.

HUGE Entrecard Contest to kick off SezWho!

I’m not going to lie. We’re on to something HUGE with the Entrecard – SezWho partnership. When you can take a quality blog that isn’t receiving any comments, and give them 10 or 20 high-quality comments per post… that’s revolutionary in our opinion.

Points will be awarded as follows:

2.) Writing a Blog Post about the partnership: 100 points

3.) Use a “bonus title” for your post: 50 points (get a bonus title by emailing graham@entrecard.com). You cannot mention in the post that it is a bonus title.

4.) Tweeting on twitter about the partnership: 50 points

5.) Commenting on SOMEONE ELSE’s post about the partnership (Entrecard or otherwise), and mention your favorite thing about the Entrecard – SezWho partnership: 50 points

There are 350 possible points. So comment on this blog post, link to every “entry” for the contest you have, and tally your score. We’ll confirm the scores manually, and award the following prizes:

1st place for members who earn maximum number of 350 points: 5,000 credits

2nd place for members who earn 300 points: 2000 credits

3rd place for members who earn 250 points: 1000 credits

4th place for members who earn 200 points: 500 credits

Dashboard Links for Sale

That’s right ladies and gentlement, the #1 most clicked on link in the ENTIRE Entrecard website is for rent. We’re trying to raise the funds to buy another server. However, there are a ton of guidelines, because we would NEVER defile our dashboard with a link we considered to be spam. So, here goes.

Permitted:

• Links to specific posts on your blog ARE permitted, but we reserve the right to deny any link for any reason.
• Links to your blog itself ARE permitted, but again, we reserve the right to deny any blog for any reason.
• Links to products and services ARE permitted, but only if they appeal to bloggers, are targeted to bloggers, and bring real value to bloggers.
• Text 30 words or less.

Not Permitted:

• Any link to anything that has nothing to do with blogging.
• Anything spammy.
• Text over 30 words.

The Price & Limitations:

• $25 dollars per link per day
• No more than three sponsored links will be displayed on any given day
• First come first serve
• Purchase as many days as you like.
• A full month costs $700
• Text cannot exceed 30 words.

To purchase:

• Send an email to graham@entrecard.com with subject “Dashboard Link” and provide the link you would want and the text you would want. Also specify how many days (minimum 1) you would like to purchase the link for.
• Your link will be evaluated for relevance and value to our community.
• If approved, you will paypal the money to support@entrecard.com.
• Your link will go up for the period of time you have paid for.
